Sacco Foundation back In Person for 12th Annual Awards

The William J. Sacco Critical Thinking Foundation held their annual awards ceremony on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at The John Carroll School in Bel Air. This was the first in-person event for the foundation since March 2020.

This annual event brought nearly 120 students, educators, and supporters of the foundation together to celebrate 14 students and 10 educators from 12 Harford County High Schools and programs.

Bryan Wang, a senior from C. Milton Wright High School, was named the Mathematics Student of the Year.

Wang became the fourth Sacco Foundation Mathematics Student of the Year from C. Milton Wright High School joining Sean Fleming (2018), John Brownfield (2020), and Peidong Chen (2022).

The Mathematics Educator of the Year, Robert Torres, is an educator at The John Carroll School.

This was the second time Torres was nominated for the award. He becomes the fourth Sacco Foundation Mathematics Educator of the Year from The John Carroll School joining Claudia Reyerson (2015), Sean Connolly (2018), and Courtney Von Lange (2019).
