The William J. Sacco Critical Thinking Foundation Celebrates 15th Annual Awards Ceremony

The William J. Sacco Critical Thinking Foundation proudly celebrated its 15th Annual Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at The John Carroll School, bringing together nearly 100 students, educators, administrators, family members, and community supporters for an inspiring evening honoring excellence in mathematics, computer science, and critical thinking.

The milestone event marked another year of recognizing the extraordinary dedication and talent of students and educators across Harford County. This year, the Foundation honored 15 outstanding students and 12 exceptional educators representing the 13 eligible Harford County schools and programs.

This year, the Foundation awarded nearly $10,000 in scholarships and educational grants to support academic achievement and classroom innovation. Since its founding, the Sacco Foundation has now awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships to students and over $14,000 in grants to educators, continuing the legacy of Dr. William J. Sacco and his lifelong commitment to the power of analytical thinking and education.

Throughout the evening, attendees celebrated not only the individual accomplishments of the award recipients but also the important role educators play in fostering curiosity, perseverance, and problem-solving skills in the next generation.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of the Foundation’s top honors: Educator of the Year and Student of the Year, selected from an impressive group of nominees representing schools across the county.

Tammy Webber from Aberdeen High School was named the 2026 Sacco Foundation Educator of the Year, receiving a $500 grant to support educational materials, classroom initiatives, and innovative learning opportunities for students.

The 2026 Sacco Foundation Student of the YearNara Anusonti-Inthra from the Science and Mathematics Academy, was awarded a $1,500 college scholarship in recognition of exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to critical thinking.

The evening also included engaging activities such as the Sacco Olympiad, a collaborative brainteaser challenge that brought students, teachers, and families together in a spirited celebration of problem solving and teamwork.

The Sacco Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the many supporters, sponsors, educators, and families who continue to help advance the Foundation’s mission of encouraging excellence in mathematics, computer science, and critical thinking across Harford County.
